Which sadly took way too long in my case, loading times were like half a minute long, and I had to reload many times because I wanted to execute something perfectly but that's also a thing that I missed a lot in modern games. There was plenty of reloading to do when you fuck up though. And it was still challenging enough to take them all in a sneaky way instead of guns blazing, but both options are very doable and equally challenging in my opinion. But I liked that part because it rewarded you for being stealthy and there were still a shit ton of enemies to take out. The weapons were solid and fun, although some were overpowered like the instant kill pistol or throwing knife which kills an enemy outright if you attack when unseen. You move to an obstacle and it shows a tiny little arrow which I wondered what it was for, and when you zoom you just pop out real quick. I literally didn't realise you can press up to a wall and then right click zoom to pop out of cover until I was half way through the game. The cover system is a blast, it's pretty useful and we'll executed and it's the complete opposite of being all in your face.

It's just chock full of older game features that are missing in modern games, and for some reason I even think the collectibles were done better than most modern games, too. I played on the highest difficulty and sadly it was still kinda easy and at some parts it was throwing health at you everywhere, but there were still many moments where I backtracked a little way back so I could replenish on that huge med pack or armor pack I passed earlier. It still regenerates rounded up to every 20 hp just so you're not really fucked when you're low on health with a ton of enemies around you. The game play is refreshingly good, keeping the old way of health restoration by picking up health kits, which I missed a lot in games because it gives a real sense of urgency when you're low on health. I didn't even register the game coming out last year and I only heard about it recently in passing, seen it mentioned that it was one of the better fps games of the year, and so I was definitely not expecting it to be this good. There is so much content I was just enjoying myself throughout the whole damn time without stopping. The game was like twenty fucking hours long! It was such a roller coaster ride, taking you from a d day style invasion to super sneaking missions to the fucking literal moon and back. To see their names, open up the collectible menu during a mission.I haven't had so much fun in a game in such a long time! It promised little and delivered so so much. Each collectible has its own specific name which makes it easier to identify what you are missing. In chapter select you can see how many collectibles you have found per level. Even if you start a completely new game your collectible progress will carry over.

You don't have to reach the next checkpoint. There are, however, areas that don't have a commander or you must do little side quests to be rewarded with an item.Īs soon as you pick up a collectible it will be saved instantaneously. Stealth-killing commanders will mark some collectible locations with a question mark on your map. It also doesn't matter what timeline you are playing (Fergus or Wyatt). You can search for missing items via chapter select at any time during the story or after beating the story. If you've discovered content that has not yet been added, we encourage you to contribute to the wiki and earn some IGN XP! View Collectibles by ChapterĬlick on a chapter below to see the full list of collectible locations with screenshots for each.
